Final Exam Section 3
Overview
I think I got the most from the MS Excel and MS Access parts of the course. I pretty much knew everything that we learned in the MS Word part of the course because I use it so often. Excel and Access gave me a chance to learn two software applications that I never have really come across so much in the past, yet can be very useful to me in business in the future. In fact, a few friends and I started up a business last year, and we found that we were able to use Excel and Access as valuable tools. Because I didn’t know them so well, I was at a little bit of a loss. Learning those programs in this course gave me a chance to get excited about business again, and it taught me ways to use those applications as tools for business.
So, I suppose I would have liked less of MS Word and blogger, and more of Excel and Access.
Journal and Readings
I found the Journal superfluous and I found the readings to be less helpful than learning it hands-on in class. The one thing blogger allowed me to do was post an article that The Commentator forgot to publish. I’d say the journal gets a 3.
Class Web Site, Class Journal/Weblog
The class Website and class journal were extremely helpful, I wish more teachers in the school would do it. I probably visited them at least once a week, and the links to related sites came in handy. It was very easy for me to go get my assignments and keep up with the latest in class, even when I couldn’t go due to unavoidable circumstances. The class Website and Journal get 10’s.
Course Materials
I don’t see myself using Blogger too much in the future, so, for me, that part of the course could have been disregarded. I learned a few new things in MS Word, but for the most part I use it everyday so I pretty much know a lot about it. As I mentioned before, the MS Access and MS Excel sections of the course were the most useful for me, I would have liked to have learned more about them.
The workload was fine, and the material was presented in a very clear, deliberate, and understandable manner.
I can’t give a number ranking to the course materials section. Blogger – bad, MS Word – OK, Access and Excel – 10’s.
I finally understand why all my friends urged me to take this class. It was one of the few classes that actually taught me practical knowledge that will help me directly after I graduate. I am graduating in May, and I have to take a full load in order to complete a minor, so I won’t be able to take Web Design, to my dismay.
Thank you very much for a valuable semester.
Sincerely,
Adam Cohen
